Cruise Concierge, Explained
Concierge cabins, concierge lounges and the people who make a cruise run smoothly — on board and before you sail.
Ask Your Cruise ConciergeCruise Concierge: The Level Between a Balcony and a Top Suite
A cruise concierge is the person who says yes before you finish asking. Need a table at the specialty restaurant on the one night it is booked solid? A quiet spot for an anniversary toast? A way off the ship early to catch a flight? That is concierge territory.
Many cruise lines now sell a concierge level: cabins and suites that come with a dedicated concierge team, a private lounge and priority treatment, without the full price of the ship’s grandest suites. Disney calls it Concierge; Celebrity sells Concierge Class staterooms; Regent Seven Seas has Concierge Suites; Royal Caribbean’s Sky Class suites come with access to a concierge; and Princess is extending its Sanctuary Collection, with a dedicated suite concierge, to more ships in 2027. Cruising Concierge explains what each of these really gives you, so you can decide whether the concierge level is worth it on your sailing.

Is Concierge-Level Cruising for You?
The concierge level makes the most sense for travelers who value time and calm: families who would rather not queue for activities, couples celebrating something, and anyone who has spent a cruise trying to get a reservation that was gone before they boarded. It makes less sense if you happily take the ship as it comes, or if the extra money would buy a longer cruise.
The page is a cruise concierge room worth it? walks through the trade-offs. For first-class cruising as a whole — luxury lines and private suite enclaves — see Cruising First Class; for butler service, Cruise Butler; and for the next step up, Cruise Upgrades explains how cabin upgrades work.

Your Own Cruise Concierge, Before You Sail
The ship’s concierge takes over at the gangway. Everything before that — choosing the line, the cabin, the flights, the hotel the night before — is the job of a personal cruise concierge service. That is what our cruise advisors at Mister Cruise do: one point of contact who books the cruise, sorts the details, and is there if anything changes. Cruise Concierge: Quick Answers
What is a cruise concierge?
On board, a cruise concierge is a crew member or small team who looks after guests in concierge-level cabins and suites: reservations, special requests, problem-solving and often a private lounge. Off the ship, a cruise concierge service is a travel advisor who plans and manages the whole trip for you.
Is a concierge the same as a butler?
No. A butler serves you in your suite; a concierge arranges things for you, usually from a desk or lounge. Top suites often come with both. Our sister site Cruise Butler covers butlers in detail.
Do I need a suite to get concierge service?
Not always. Several lines sell a concierge tier below their top suites — Disney’s concierge-level staterooms and Celebrity’s Concierge Class, for example.
Can I add concierge service to a regular cabin?
Generally no. On most lines the concierge benefits come with the cabin category you book, so the choice is made when you pick the room.
